Welcome and thank you
Firstly we would like to thank everyone for making our first touch evening a success. We had over 100 people from 10 teams turn up and get invloved. Last Wednesday was a taster for everyone with the aim of getting to know the game, format and for some of you, your team mates. As from next week the competition starts. You’ll find below a summary of a few rules that caused confusion to everyone as well as the fixtures for next week. You’ll also be able to find all the rules here and all the up-to-date tables here. We’ll also post man/lady of the match and results on our Facebook.
You’ll also need to pay your teams entrance fee which you can do so here here, or pay one of the HRFC Touch Team on Wednesday, but payment over the club store is prefered.
As always, if you have any questions, issues or your team maybe a little short one week, drop us an email and we’ll be able to help out touch@hampsteadrugbyclub.co.uk.
A summary of the rules
We would like to summarise some of the rules that caused some confusion last week.
Dummy half: the player acting as dummy half can run with the ball, but if they are touched possession will be lost. The dummy half also cannot score.
The mark: you must play the ball from where you were touched. Repeated infringements
will result in possession being lost.
Diving for a try: we all love it when Ashton does the swan dive but sadly as touch is a minimal contact sport, diving for a try isn’t allowed. If you do dive for a try, possession will
be lost.
Not being 5 meters back/offside: defending players must be 5 metres back from the roll ball. If not, the referee has the option of calling ‘off side’ and returning the attacking touch count to 0 OR play on if the attacking team gains an advantage.

HRFC Touch Rugby Sponsor: The Garden Gate
The best alfresco fun in north London. Our beer garden is one of the city’s finest, while inside is pretty inspiring, too. This 19th century pub has a long tradition of accommodating weary walkers and lovely locals from Hampstead Heath, and today we’re doing it in style with fresh, home-cooked pub food, a stunning choice of speciality drinks and an ultra-relaxed atmosphere.
