Happy to report that the Club does it’s bit for the development of the game

Happy to report that the Club does it’s bit for the development of the game, not just within the local schools, but further afield.

With the start of pre-season, Steve Pirroli, Simon Taylor (plus a reluctant Laurie Taylor) & Peter Breen have been busy replacing equipment and tidying up lock-ups. Being a club catering for 30 teams, we have a heap of stuff and the boys have been ruthless and put aside used and worn items. But being good carbon foot-printers, we’re not dumping in land-fill but organising balls, pads, old kit etc. to go off to developing foreign climes.

One large bag of club branded balls and an old set of shirts are on a far flung trip with one of the club’s junior team coaches (& also head coach of Hertford College) to Mongolia. John Collis has been making the trip for the last five years, aiding with Mongolia’s student development and love of the game, and was delighted to be able to take our donation with him.

And for the second year running the Club have hooked up with SOS Kit Aid & have donated several bags of balls and pads for their scheme, which helps clubs in Africa and the Far East as well as schools in Eastern European cities who want to play the game, but hampered by the lack of equipment.
