Is is Grasstead or Hamhoppers?

By Helen Willingham

Hampstead combine with Grasshoppers to beat a very good Essex outfit.

Our u18 girls combined with last week's foes, to become the best of friends yesterday at Barking RFC. The East London club had laid on an afternoon of development rugby & our girls joined forces with our old friends at Grasshoppers to play a full XV a-side match on a very big pitch. Having played Grasshoppers last week, the combined team obviously had an inkling of where each teams' strengths were & played a full bloodied, rugged match against a very good Old Colfeians side. It was a tight, tense and enjoyable spectacle with our Grasstead / Hamhoppers triumphing 12-5. It was great to see these new friends putting all on the line and keeping out OCs, who were throwing everything they had at the combo team in the last 5 minutes, searching for the equaliser. Thank you to all the coaches, the girls & to Barking RFC for laying on a great afternoon of rugby.
