How did you start playing rugby?
I’ve played Aussie Rules for a couple of years, and one my team mates convinced me to come try rugby at her “local club”. Without having watched a single game, I decided to rock up and give it a go. What I didn’t realise, was that my mate had been capped by England, and her “Local Club” was at Premier 15s Champions Saracens! After slogging it out for a couple of months (read: passing forward a lot!) I was directed to the amazing club of Hampstead to get some game time and develop my skills.
What has your experience of Hampstead been like?
Hampstead have been extremely welcoming, from the initial contact to ongoing support throughout the season. They provide a feeling of camaraderie and enjoyment to the wonderful sport of rugby, and off the pitch, the wonderful activity of “lip syncing for my life”.
What would you say to someone thinking of giving rugby a go?
I would absolutely 100% recommend giving it a crack. Unless you’re against having fun, making great mates and throwing a ball around a muddy pitch of course! (disclaimer: we can't always guarantee it will be muddy).
