There are players still turning out, having been recognised at both county and international level

The playing season maybe over for all our teams, but there are Hampstead players still turning out, having been recognised at both county & international level.

Building on the six representatives our junior girls had turning out or Middlesex u15s & u18s, a few of them clustered with Grasshoppers and won the prestigious St George’s Day festival at Wasps at the end of April.

Not to be outdone our senior Ladies have seven players as part of Middlesex Senior squad, currently in the middle of the Counties round robin set of matches. Our players selected for Middlesex this year are: Trish Brown, Hattie Clapp, Geraldine McGroarty, Rochan Millar, Evie Holder, Sophie Bale and Rachel Berry who also is captain for the squad this year.

Two of our ladies have also been selected for the British Police Squad - Lydia Hartridge and Ruth Cooper.

Our men’s section is also donning the blue & white stripes of Middlesex with Alex Brooks, Peter Bicknell and Rob Gardner all turning out in the ‘Bill Beaumont Counties Tournament’, earning a victory over Buckinghamshire at the weekend.

Raising the bar, we have ex player Ben Preclik currently skippering the Austrian National team & current player, Stefan Psota, also playing and scoring tries for ‘Rugby Austria’. This comes on top of another ex-player, Kenneth Rasmussen, who had never picked up a ball prior to joining the club, being selected in the Autumn for Denmark.

With one of our very first junior players making his professional debut for Nottingham this season the club can feel very proud of striving to make players the best they can be.
