How do i remove a player from my squad?

When a parent confirms that the child is no longer with your squad and the club.

The legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example.
- Benjamin Disraeli

At the start of the season, each TM needs to look at their players and get confirmation as to who will be training for their squad for that season. Doing this as soon as possible makes the admin a lot more straightforward for everyone for the season, as you can see from an excerpt from our Juniors' Treasurers email below.

What tends to happen is that people leave the club forgetting that they have direct debits for fees in place. They then notice when the c.£100 (or more) goes out of their account, and naturally ask for it back! However the refund process is completely manual and time consuming – so becomes a real burden if there are a lot of them. Cancelling the direct debit of someone who has left is far easier.

These payments will start coming out of peoples’ accounts in September, so I would be really grateful if you could check through your teams and let me know if I should be cancelling direct debits.

I know in some cases it will only be possible to judge whether they have left the club later in the season. I’m just interested in anyone you may already know has told us that they won’t be back this season.

With that in mind, here is the definitive way for Team Managers to remove players from your squad using Pitchero. I have done this from basics for any new Team Managers. For those who already know how to get to the admin dashboard you can skip the first 4 steps. This whole process will take less than 5 minutes per player.

Using Admin Section of Club Website:

  1. Go to the club website - click on {LOGIN} in the top right corner and enter your email and password, click the {red login button}
  2. After you've logged in, in the top right hand corner next to the Pitchero Logo should be your picture (If you've not uploaded it yet, please do so). Click on your {picture} (or blank circle if you haven't uploaded a picture)
  3. In the resulting menu select {Admin Dashboard}
  4. Then click {Hampstead RFC} and you will be sent to the Admin Dashboard
  5. Click on {Membership} in the left hand menu
  6. Click on {Membership Database} in the resulting menu
  7. In the search box of the Membership Database page, type the surname of the player that you are looking to remove
  8. Now select the player record from the results grid by clicking {anywhere on the row with their name}
  9. Click on the {Roles} tab
  10. Remove the player from all roles by {unchecking} each box
  11. Click the green {Save} button. (N.B. you need to click this button before selecting another tab or closing the window)
  12. Final Step!!! - Advise the Junior Treasurer of the player that you have removed them from your squad and their parents names.

Using Pitchero Manager App on phone or tablet:

  1. Open the Pitchero Manager app on your phone or tablet
  2. Click on {Members} from the bottom menu
  3. Click on {your team}
  4. Click on the {Player name} that is being removed
  5. Click on {Edit} in the top right
  6. Click on the {Roles} tab
  7. {switch off} Club member role under Other Roles by moving the switch to the left. Switch will be white when off, green when on.
  8. Now select the {Player Profile} tab from the top tab list
  9. Uncheck the box next to your team to remove the player from the squad
  10. Click {Done} in top right
  11. Click the {back arrow} to get back to your team list.
  12. Click the {back arrow} to get back to the main menu
  13. Click {Messages} from the bottom menu
  14. Advise the Junior Treasurer (Alan Sewell for 2019/20) of the player and parent no longer with your squad.

After this, Junior Treasurer will attempt to cancel their DD (if it hasn't already been drawn), and will remove relevant persons from the club database. If a parent has multiple children in the club, he may contact the other TMs to confirm if the other children are staying with the club.
