North London's friendliest club are looking for a 2nd team coach

Hampstead RFC is looking for a coach for the men's 2nd Team, working under Head Coach Peter Breen to develop Hampstead’s brand of attractive, attacking rugby.

There is funding available for remuneration in accordance with RFU regulations 7.2.

The candidate does not have to have taken their level 2 exams, though that would be an advantage. The candidate would, however, be expected to take such courses during their time at the club (full remuneration). The position would ideally suit an experienced player from Level 5 or above looking to move into coaching. It could also suit an ambitious coach looking to develop a growing talent pool of enthusiastic, ambitious players at north one of North London’s leading clubs.

The candidate should possess a passion for developing people and players, team performance and all aspects of rugby within the club. The candidate will assist Peter during weekly training sessions, and take specialist sessions focused on technical and tactical development of players in the 2nd Team squad from which the 1st XV team is also drawn. The candidate would be responsible on match day for the 2nd's kit, the balls and decide the substitutions. The coach would also be responsible for training for the 3s and 4s.

The Club has use of excellent outdoor facilities, in with a floodlit training area at Hampstead Heath, and modern, all-weather facilities in north London.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will be display an appreciation of the importance of all technical and tactical components of rugby, thorough analysis, planning and organisational skills. Working with Peter, you will help articulate and deliver a vision and game plan for the 2nd Team. You should have the ability to develop people and either prove you have done this or be willing to learn how to.

Good communication skills (verbal and written) and proven ability to build strong, mutually-beneficial relationships with players, team volunteers and other key stakeholders from the Executive and club at large.

You will have the ability to educate and inspire, and will also demonstrate the ability to work on your own and as part of an integrated performance focused team. A high level of Rugby literacy and experience in understanding the demands of both the modern club player at this level and the club’s own demands and limitations (financial and operational) at this level is essential.
