Saturday 7 September will see Hampstead's junior section start its 10th season

It seems like yesterday we were all picnicking on the heath celebrating the end of a busy season, and here we are, back again.

Sessions take place from 10.30-12.30 Saturday mornings by the track at Parliament Hill. Players of all abilities welcome, including novices. We cater for girls and boys from 6 - 17 year olds inclusive. Best way of joining is to turn up, join in and take it from there.

For 5s & under we have a tie in with Ruggerbugs who run sessions also on Saturday mornings, just a 5 minute walk away at Gospel Oak school.

So existing players and parents, welcome back for a World Cup year; New players and parents, welcome to the club. We hope that you and your star player enjoy the season ahead and achieve well for themselves and their team. Most questions you have about the club should be answered on our website but do make sure you touch base with your Team Manager early on if there's anything you'd like to clarify.

Parents, we are a volunteer run club, so if this is the season that you want to step off the sidelines and into helping the club, please do touch base with your Team Manager. There are lots of things that can be a great help if a few more people stepped up. It doesn't need to be a large commitment, every little helps. See our Volunteers information for some ideas of how you can help, or come up with your own ideas.

A little bit of admin before the season starts:
  1. If you haven't already done so, make sure you and your star player are signed up to the club via Pitchero. It is central to pretty much everything we do.
  2. If you don't already have an RFU ID you will also need to sign up as a parent onto the RFU Game Management System. Note your kids will likely already have an RFU ID if they have been with the club, this is a new requirement for parents from the RFU.
  3. Let your coaches and TM know that you will be attending training by using the Calendar function on the Pitchero Club app and setting attendance. This really helps coaches to manage sessions.
  4. This year, 2 age groups will be responsible for clearing up after training every week and ensuring it's all been put away tidy into the lock-up. The full timetable will be published this week, but this first Saturday will be the responsibility of the u14s along with the u15s. Parents and kids can really help out here.
  5. Parents, take the RFU online concussion course. This is tailored specifically for parents, and should take less than an hour to complete. This is one area where many eyes really helps.
  6. Re-familiarise yourself and your star player to the Codes of Conduct for the club. There is also a spectators version.
  7. Finally, on the website have a look and familiarise yourself with your team's section. There is a home page here for your team as well details on fixtures, training, match previews, match reports, officials and news all specific to your team. Team Managers should be keeping this up to date during the season.
