The countdown is on — the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 is nearly here, and we’re bringing the excitement to Hampstead Rugby with a club-wide sweepstake!

This is your chance to support the club and be in the running to win a cash prize.

It costs just £5 to enter, which you can do via the club website here. 50% of all entries will go directly toward supporting the running of the Club, and the remaining 50% will be added to the prize pot – awarded to the sweepstake winner.

You’ll need to enter by midnight on Sunday 17th August, after which you'll be randomly assigned a team and emailed your match-up — along with the final prize fund total, which will depend on the number of entries.

It’s open to everyone aged 18 and over, so please share with friends, family, coworkers and teammates — the more entries, the bigger the prize and the more we raise for the Club!

If you want to purchase a sweepstake entry for others who are not members in Pitchero, email Hampstead RFC Women+ (hampsteadladies@gmail.com) with their name and email address and we will assign your entry to that person.

The fine print

After the deadline for entry, each person will be given a competing team from the 2025 Women's Rugby World Cup to support. This will be done before the first game kicks off at 7:30pm on Friday 22nd August 2025.

This is selected by a random online generator without any human influence or input.

Depending on the number of entrants, each team will likely have multiple supporters, and the prize money will be divided equally among those allocated the same team.

For example, if four people draw England, and England then win the tournament, all four of those supporters will each receive an equal amount from the prize pot. More on this below.

There will only be prize money for the first place team. This will be made up of 50% of the entrance fees. As the sweepstake is a fundraiser, the other 50% will go towards the running of the club.

The supporters of the winning team, following the final on Saturday 27th September (4pm KO), will then be notified by email by the end of the following week with information of how to claim their prize.

It is their responsibility to contact the club to claim their winnings.

How the prize money will work

For the sake of easy maths, say we have 80 entrants paying £5 each. That’s a total of £400, half of which goes to the Club as a fundraiser, leaving £200 for the prize money.

There are 16 teams in this year’s Women's Rugby World Cup, so the 80 entrants will be split evenly among the teams, with 5 supporters per country.

When the winner is decided in the final on 27 September, the 5 supporters of the winning team will each receive an equal share of the £200 prize pot — that’s £40 each.
