The first fixture of the season for Hampstead Ladies’ first team was a tall order – an away game at Old Albanians who are always a strong side in this league.
Hampstead were every bit a match for an impressive OAs side who opened the scoring in what ended up being a high scoring advert for the ladies game.
The score continued to ping pong with tries from Kathryn Davey (2 tries), Helen Martin, Lily hunt and Juliette Rouesse along with 3 out of 5 conversions from Fran Hall. The excellent kicking from OA's number 10 proved the deciding factor with them squeezing a win by one conversion 33-31.
Hampstead Ladies can take great pride in an impressive start to their season and should feel confident going into their next game against Romford next Sunday.
