It was a strong twelve player turnout last Sunday as parents were keen to sample the Bank of England facilities.
After a hotly contested round of mass sprints and 50 player bulldog, four teams from Richmond, two from Hampstead and two teams of young bankers lined up to play against each other in rapid rotation. One Hampstead team was made up of Cooper, Walter, Alfredo, Tom, Ed and Arthur, whereas Rowan, Cian, Peter, Louis, Donnie and Aidan were the second line-up.
Once again, the Hampstead machine was very much in credit. Despite opening their account with a draw, Hampstead had the balance of play in the rest of the matches, dominating the scorelines and leaving the Bank sides with a big deficit. In the second group, Cian's jinking runs were unstoppable, Rowan's playmaking created lots of space for his team-mates and Donnie and Louis were miserly in defence limiting the opposition's chances.
The U8s are becoming more and more a cohesive team and we were complimented by one of the Richmond coaches on their ability to support each other's runs and offload in the 'tackle'. Excellent stuff all round!
