A beautiful 4G pitch at Cheshunt. Our boys could hardly believe their eyes. Cheshunt's new astroturf has more in common with Saracens' Allianz Park than our training slope on the Heath or the mud of the Extension.

With Rupert away Tom Powell (ex England 7's Captain) travelled from Yorkshire to warm the team up! Final score: 42:12. But the the scoreline doesn't reflect the challenge Hampstead presented the home team. In short, determined, flashes of brilliance and solid teamwork.

Our two tries came from Archie (wide awake and revving) and Anthony (steely nerved and committed). We almost scored another try in the the first half too. Two moments stand out in the match: Anthony's epic final minute try. And Nate's phenomenal big tackle took down the biggest guy on the pitch just as he was poised to score. That wrestling pays off . Euan converted one try. Vinnie, Michael, Sebastian and Freddie each put in good shifts they can be proud of. Congratulations too to Julius who was playing full back (possibly for the first time?) and 'bossed it' to get the best out of his teammates. Thanks to coaches Tom and Matt for energising team talks.

All in all our U14s held their nerve, kept their heads up facing bigger, well-drilled opposition.
