Southend Festival - Hampstead U8's

A massive well done to all of the children who played at Southend on Sunday and a huge thank you to the parents who made the journey and gave their support.

We got off to a great start against Harlow winning 7-2. The children worked together brilliantly; they passed well, their defence was superb and we saw some cracking tries!

Our second match was against Westcliff. Again, we won 5-3 and dominated the game. A real pleasure to watch

Our third match was against Upminster, a closer game which finished with us winning 3-2 after an amazing last minute try from Isabelle!

Our final match was against Wanstead. We got off to a scrappy start but soon organised ourselves and really upped our game. The end result was 3-2 to Wanstead. Had the game been a few minutes longer I’m certain we could’ve secured a draw or won.

The children showed great spirit and confidence and looked like they were really enjoying every game. It’s wonderful to see them developing their skills and really gelling as a team. All in all a great day of rugby!
