It was a fantastic morning and we’re really, really proud of the boys. Both teams had a couple of strong wins and couple of hard fought losses but their confidence grew massively over the course of the morning. We saw some incredible tackling and ridiculous tries and have lots to take away and work on. Perhaps the one thing I’m proudest of is the teams attitude both on and off the pitch, in particular JJ’s. No sooner than I arrived home I received an email from Teddington RFC’s manager with the following feedback.......
"Played a Hampstead team at London Scottish today, U9. There was a young lad, JJ, who tackled really well and played the game hard and fair. After the match he came up to me on the sideline to say thanks for reff’ing. He was playing for Hampstead Whites on Pitch 7. Def deserves a TREDS/Green Laces award."
We are being sent Green Laces which will be presented to JJ for demonstrating rugby's core values; teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline & sportsmanship.
Win or lose, the boys attitude both on and off the pitch and towards the opposition & officials also gets noticed. Keep up the great work U9s!
