The cold and the rain didn’t put a damper on a great trip to West London. The U8s brought 3 teams, the Heathens, Hawkes and Hussars legendary Hampstead names, with such a strong turn out we even had subs for each team.

There was a high standard or rugby from all teams and the opposition with tags and tries coming thick and fast. It is always enjoyable to play different teams and the opportunity to play 5 different teams with different styles really helps the players develop.

Fuelling and resting after each match gave the teams a chance to discuss and practice pointers from the coaches as well as relax and have fun as a group.It was excellent to see the respect all players had for their team mates, the opposition and refs along with the good sportsmanship around the touchline, really demonstrating the core rugby value.

The quality and discipline of arrowheads and defensive lines remained until the end of the 5th game, when with tired legs and smiles, meddles were collected and the day came to an end. A massive thank you to everyone who organised the event it was a complete success and as always a highlight of the year.
