On a grey and rainy December day, with only one tag belt training session this season due to COVID the U6’s and U7’s had a wonderful invitation to a joint training session and some matches with Regent’s Park.
The morning started with a joint warm up in the light drizzle before separating out into age bands for some skills training

Regents park had some new sprinting drills for the teams to learn but with the help of the coaches and the other players they were quickly up to speed – literally and figuratively – and any thoughts of cold or rain were left behind.

A final warm up of a game of tag bull dog put everyone in the right frame of mind for matches. The arrow heads were sharp and the connected lines strong as the teams gained great experience playing against a different set of individuals. There was good team work with the ball being passed around to all members and everyone trying their hardest.

A quick break for some parents vs children bull dog, where the parents mostly lost (lack of warm up and teamwork to blame) then a final game. Ending with cheers for the opposition and the coaches, the team did fantastically well and were deservedly proud of their performance.

Hopefully pandemic permitting this is the first of year of games and making friends.
